In a post dated Sept 30, 2015, the Facebook page Art and Culture of Laos explains that in Luang Prabang, the phakhouan of the wedding consists of a footed bowl (ຂັນ) that you put on in a bowl (ໂອ) with the bowl representing the bride while the footed bowl represent the groom. This is to symbolize that the groom has to be the support for the bride and be the person who provides for the family, provide protection. As the footed bowl stands on the bowl, this is to mean the groom will make every effort to rise her up.
Two other photos were posted in the same message but the couples were not identified, both are from the Royal Family. The first couple: Tiao Souvanna Chinda and Tiao Southivong Sisouphanh (at the back King Savang Vattana and Queen Khamphoui) and the second photo (close up) represents Tiao Savivanh Savang (daughter of the King wih Tiao Sisoumang Manivong (Married on 21 September 1957).
