If you pass by Paris this year of 2018, do not miss to visit the Museum of Quai Branly. The museum is showing 200 paintings from its colonial past with a few from Laos and Cambodia. I particularly enjoyed looking at how Lao women dressed in the early 20th century, a style that still inspires our weavers. There are three or four drawings from Andre Maire but none of Marc Leguay. Maybe he had become too Lao to be part of the exhibition? The painting of King Ounkham is not great but he sits next to King Sisowath from Cambodia in the exhibition !

Do take time to visit the permanent collection of the museum, it also has some handicraft and other artifacts from Laos, Southeast Asia and more generally of the five continents.

I bought the exhibition catalog, this goes to our library but not sure who will treasure these works after we are gone!
